Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

US actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a statement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Notable Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.

Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
