The Liverpool head coach conceded that it's understandable for questions to be raised about his position following a further heavy loss against the Dutch champions.
Liverpool endured their ninth defeat in 12 matches, marking the team's poorest run after being demoted in 1953-54.
They were outplayed by the Dutch league title holders on a difficult night at their home ground.
“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I've received a lot of backing from the top,” Slot commented.
“It would be great to change things and secure a win of course but when you're in a managerial role and not doing well then it is normal that doubts arise.”
He noted, “I'm comfortable with my situation. It is not the first time I've found myself in a difficult position but it is about time that we improved our results.”
Upon being questioned to provide details on his dialogues with the Liverpool hierarchy, Slot explained:
“We communicate frequently. They are supportive to the team and for me and we discuss these matters but they don’t call me every single minute each day to say they have faith in me.”
He mentioned, “Through standard exchanges I sense the belief. However I've not talked to them since this game yet so we'll see.”
The manager highlighted familiar failings from his squad in their Champions League loss, specifically poor finishing and conceding too easily.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his assessment of the current crisis.
“I haven't got the answers. Truthfully, I do not. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones stated.
“It's simply not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to reflect. I'm beyond feeling anger internally. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the phrases.”
He added, “It’s hard because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I've watched this club since I was young.”
“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team going through a period like this with outcomes this poor.”
Jones concluded, “But we continue to wear that badge on our chest. And until that badge is taken away, we'll continue to compete.”
“We’re going to try to help the side return to the top, demonstrate to all again what Liverpool stands for and why people call it the greatest side in the planet.”
“But right now, we’re in the shit and it must improve.”
