The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The celebrated game designer died after his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a highway in LA on Sunday, according to.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts said.
