The gritty universe from Tom Clancy’s The Division will be translated into a dice-based role-playing experience. A collaboration was established to develop a TTRPG that explores the franchise’s apocalyptic setting. The project was revealed, with a funding drive scheduled to launch in April of 2026.
"This endeavor will bring the franchise’s distinctive tension, strategic depth, and memorable setting to the table, providing fans a new way to engage with The Division through immersive storytelling and mission-based gameplay," reads an official release.
Launch products will include a starter set, essential manuals, a GM screen, figurines, and various premium versions.
In this setting, a lethal pathogen called Green Poison was unleashed in New York City, plunging the United States into chaos. As the crisis escalates, society crumbles and hostile groups rise, transforming the city into a battlefield. To restore law and order, the authorities {activate|deploy] The Division, a secret cell of sleeper agents. That’s where the players enter the story.
Development on the RPG has been underway for about several years, and it is confirmed to be complete. The upcoming Kickstarter campaign will function as a pre-launch sales platform to reach a broader market, particularly in the United States. Production is slated to begin right after the campaign, with deliveries projected for the latter part of 2026.
A preview at the game's rules confirms it employs 10-sided dice exclusively through its new GRIS system, promoting a streamlined and tactical approach. Agents leverage abilities to assemble small dice pools, typically between one and five d10s.
Battles prioritize placement and situational awareness, reflecting the video games. Elements like taking cover, height advantage, or visibility directly influence success chances. This mechanic seems built to favor coordination and smart positioning over raw numbers.
The way injuries is tracked adds a compelling thematic twist. Operatives have a wound threshold; taking heavy hits weakens their capabilities by lowering the size of their dice pool.
A publicly available introductory rulebook will be released soon. It includes a ready-to-play introductory scenario titled Ashes of Murray Hill. In this mission, players spearhead the hunt for a missing medical team and work to stop an assault by the violent Rikers faction, who have seized control of that Manhattan district. Further information and the full range of offerings will be detailed near the campaign launch.
