Ukrainian Forces Begins Mass Production of New Interceptor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new locally engineered defensive UAV to strengthen its air defences. The first three producers have begun manufacturing, with an additional eleven getting ready to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs utilize a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. The system underwent testing in actual battle and proved effective “at night, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Recent Attack on Kyiv Characterized as Calculated

Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized Moscow's most recent assault on Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and brutal” following six people lost their lives and dozens injured in a wave of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv. Air raid sirens activated in Kyiv shortly after midnight this past Friday, with Shahed drones quickly heard overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

The president stated the country was hit by hundreds of UAVs and multiple missiles. The deceased had been at home in a block of flats on Kyiv’s left bank during the strike. Dozens of additional structures sustained damage, including the Azerbaijani embassy.

Diplomatic Objection After Embassy Damage

The Azerbaijani government said it issued a formal objection to Moscow's diplomatic representative this past Friday following the destruction at its diplomatic compound. The blast from a Moscow's missile demolished part of the embassy’s perimeter wall and caused serious damage to the diplomatic compound, officials from Baku reported. Russian Aerial Bomb Manufacturing Sees Major Expansion

Moscow plans to produce up to 120,000 guided aerial bombs this year, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official disclosed, including 500 of a new, extended-range model that is capable of targeting additional urban centers. Russian forces were firing hundreds of glide bombs per day, with the previous month's daily average being approximately 170, based on defence ministry data.

Ukrainian Strikes Target Moscow's Energy Infrastructure

Moscow's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk halted for a period crude shipments on Friday – representing 2% of worldwide oil production – following a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Ukraine’s general staff stated its forces had launched Neptune cruise missiles and used multiple kinds of strike drones in the assault against Novorossiysk “within the framework of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukrainian forces separately targeted a processing plant in Russia’s Saratov region and a fuel storage facility in nearby Engels overnight.

Global Sanctions Impact Russian Oil Producer

Russia’s second-largest energy company Lukoil announced on Friday it is negotiating with interested parties regarding its international holdings after recent restrictions from the UK and the US and the collapse of an agreement with commodity trader Gunvor. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed after conclusive negotiations have been reached and the necessary regulatory approvals are secured,” Lukoil stated.

Ukrainian President Plans Visit to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the city of Madrid, Madrid, next Tuesday to confer with parliament members a day after his trip to France, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. Zelenskyy will convene with representatives from both chambers of parliament throughout his stay, the Spanish statement confirmed.
