Law enforcement have released concerning footage illustrating a motorist executing risky skidding techniques on a roundabout during an unauthorized car meet, putting onlookers at grave danger of harm.
An individual aged 23 from Southampton was given a 27-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after pleading guilty to reckless operation of a vehicle.
Additionally, the judge issued a one-year license suspension and ordered unpaid work along with a rehabilitation program.
As stated by authorities, the recording was captured at an illegal automobile gathering in the city on December 28th, 2024, featuring the driver operating a distinctive colored vehicle.
“This footage shows the shocking incident when a reckless motorist skidded around a roundabout at an illegal car meet, while spectators looked on despite the risk of serious injury.”
Police representatives reported that more than two hundred violations related to unauthorized vehicle events in the region have been addressed in approximately 12 months.
Notable statistics from the enforcement effort comprise:
An officer commented: “Residents, drivers and our roads policing teams have had enough with these crowds of drivers selfishly occupying public roads and car parks and we refuse to accept it.”
He added: “These events are not only a total disturbance, but they also put themselves and uninvolved individuals at danger of serious injury.”
He finished: “We will continue to take legal action against these individuals and I hope these latest incidents serve as a caution: you will face consequences.”
