Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage features text commentary of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , following recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking in those games were the amount of penalties both committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period against Denver, who play overseas this weekend.
However it proved positive to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory 21-17.
The Broncos boast the top defender with CB their star corner. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.
They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always sending extra defenders instead they could plug two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.
At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly and did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).
I love that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows that the Broncos represent a squad aiming to run first, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and maintains in positive down and distances.
It's also benefited quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass all over, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, and he is so athletic.
His strengths include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.
If you consistently run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to be in play extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the area downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.
The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can really develop him how he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix helps make him into who he is.
There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to be in their division. The key is is maintain this path.
They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.
The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.
Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
Looking at their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.
It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
